Spice is the continuation of the story started in Sugar: A Hawaiian Novel. In it, Lili Kaleo, the heroine, must go to Barbados to determine the source of the bribe money that was used to tempt her in Sugar.
........By poking around in the wrong places, she becomes the target of a conspiracy to silence her.
........When her best friend, Ephraim, is killed, she forms an alliance with Lance Williams, a Barbadian police officer. Just when the romance begins, she is forced to run to save herself.
